Hive Pet Policy
Hive Pet Policy
This policy applies to all guests bringing APPROVED pets to our properties.
Please carefully read the guidelines below to ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, including your furry friends.
General Rules for All Pets
Pre-Approval: All pets must be approved by the host prior to booking. Please provide details about your pet (breed, size, number of pets) when making your reservation.
Pet Fee: A non-refundable pet fee of $10/day (Max $200 per stay) is required for each pet. This covers additional cleaning and potential wear-and-tear.
Vaccination: All pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations. Proof of vaccination may be requested before or during your stay.
Well-Behaved Pets Only: Pets must be house-trained, well-mannered, and non-aggressive. Guests are responsible for controlling noise, such as barking, that may disturb neighbors.
Indoor Pets
Allowed Areas: Pets are only allowed in designated areas of the house. Pets must stay off furniture, including beds, couches, and chairs. You may bring your own pet bedding if needed.
Supervision: Pets should not be left unattended inside the home unless crated or confined to a safe area. Any damages caused by unsupervised pets will result in additional fees & charges.
Clean-Up: Owners must promptly clean up any pet messes inside the home. Please dispose of waste in the trash, not in sinks or toilets. A minimum of $100 in penalties and fees will be applied to tenants for failure to clean behind pets that results in lasting damage to the property.
Damage Liability: Owners will be responsible for the cost of any damage caused by pets inside the home, including but not limited to scratches, stains, and chew marks. Excessive damage can result in penalties and fees in excess of the security and/or pet deposits.
Outdoor Pets
Supervision: Outdoor pets must be monitored at all times. Please ensure your pet is leashed anytime it is outdoors, unless within a fenced area. This is a parish and state mandate.
Yard Use: If your pet is allowed in the yard, they must stay in fenced areas (if applicable). Pets should not dig, chew plants, or damage outdoor furniture.
Waste Disposal: Guests must clean up promptly after their pets in the yard and surrounding areas. Failure to clean up after pets will result in a minimum of $10/day in penalties and fees.
Click HERE to understand the hazards of not cleaning up promptly behind pets.
Quiet Hours: Pets must be quiet during specified quiet hours (typically 10 PM to 7 AM). Persistent barking or disruptive behavior could result in early termination of the stay without refund.
Number of Pets and Size Limits
Number of Pets: A maximum of 2 approved pets are allowed per stay.
Size Limits: Indoor pets must not exceed 50 lbs. Larger dogs or outdoor pets should be disclosed prior to booking for approval.
Restricted Breeds and Pets
Restricted Breeds: Due to insurance and safety policies, certain breeds may not be allowed. Please consult the host for specifics.
Exotic Animals: Exotic pets such as reptiles, birds, or non-domesticated animals are not permitted without prior approval.
Louisiana Laws
Service Animals: Dogs that are trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities.
Emotional Support Animals: ESAs are not considered service animals under the ADA, as they are not trained to perform specific tasks to assist with disabilities.
Louisiana Law allows service dogs in public places, but ESAs have limited access, primarily in housing. Louisiana does not require landlords to accept ESAs. Misrepresenting a pet as a service animal is illegal in Louisiana and can result in criminal charges and penalties.
